Huna Totem seeks cruise liquor licenses for two Southeast vessels

Icy Strait Adventures, LLC, the vessel arm of Huna Totem Corporation, is seeking common carrier dispensary licenses for two Southeast Alaska cruise vessels, filing applications with the Alaska Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. The licenses, numbered 60636 and 60637, would authorize alcohol service aboard Three Kittiwakes and Three Wolves, with the premises listed as Alaskan Waters. Neither application lists a local governing body.

Both applications are scheduled for the board's June 23, 2026, regular meeting in Fairbanks and are recommended for approval with delegation to the director, meaning the board would not need to reconvene for final sign-off. Two other new common carrier dispensary applications, Crystal Symphony (License 60655, Crystal Cruises USA, LLC) and MSC Poesia (License 60680, MSC Cruises SA), appear on the same agenda. The next regular board meeting is scheduled for September 1, 2026, in Anchorage.

Huna Totem is the ANCSA village corporation for Hoonah, incorporated in 1973 and awarded 23,040 acres from the Tongass National Forest. Its tourism enterprise Icy Strait Point, located on Chichagof Island, anchors a broader growth strategy that includes Na-Dena` LLC, a 50-50 joint venture with Doyon, Limited focused on expanding sustainable tourism in Alaska. The new vessel licenses extend that footprint onto the water.

The board meeting is set for June 23 at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Fairbanks. Kevin Richard, Director of the Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office, leads the agency that provides staff to the board and administers alcohol licensing in Alaska.
