Anchorage firm's $85,184 in GSA repair work is in Vermont and California

An Anchorage company, Yukon Fire Protection Services, picked up two emergency federal repair contracts worth a combined $85,184 in awards made about three weeks apart. Both jobs are outside Alaska.

The General Services Administration awarded the larger contract, $51,728, on Sept. 1. The work covers emergency replacement of a booth heater and exterior painting. Performance runs through Dec. 31. The federal record puts that work at Derby Line, Vermont, a crossing on the Canadian border. Anchorage is the company's own address.

The second contract, $33,456, was awarded Aug. 13 for repair of two leaks at the Otay Mesa Land Port of Entry in San Diego. That work runs through Oct. 31.

Both were described in the award records as emergency projects, and both were competed: the records list full and open competition, as task orders under an existing GSA contract.

Yukon Fire Protection Services has operated in Anchorage since 1978. The company says on its website that it is "an 8-A Alaskan Native Owned corporation." The Small Business Administration runs an 8(a) program for disadvantaged firms. Federal records list the company as an Alaska Native corporation owned firm and a self-certified small disadvantaged business.

The two contracts are a small part of the company's federal year. Records show 149 awards with fiscal 2026 action dates worth about $32.1 million, including a $7.5 million services contract at Derby Line.
