Four of seven Kodiak Assembly seats are on the Oct. 6 ballot

Four of the seven seats on the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly are on the ballot Oct. 6. All are elected borough-wide rather than by district.

Three of the seats carry the Assembly's usual three-year term. The fourth is a shorter term, tied to the seat left vacant when Dave Johnson's spot on the Assembly was declared open in June. Candidates made their case at a recent forum in Kodiak, among them former borough mayor Scott Arndt, who lost the 2025 mayor's race to Jared Griffin and is now running for an Assembly seat.

Voters have several ways to cast a ballot before Election Day. Early voting runs Sept. 21 through Oct. 5, and anyone planning a write-in campaign must file a declaration by Sept. 29.
