The Forest Service awarded Wayward Trails LLC of Fort Collins, Colorado, a $126,000 contract Nov. 2 to brush trails in the Chugach National Forest's Seward and Glacier ranger districts. Work runs from Nov. 1, 2026, through Nov. 30, 2027.

The work statement requires brushing the Portage Pass, Devil's Creek and Spencer Bench trails and names Moose Pass and Whittier as the closest communities. The Lower Russian, Carter Lake and Byron Glacier trails are optional items, awarded only if funds are available. The trails range from 1 mile at Byron Glacier to 10.2 miles at Devil's Creek. Each is brushed once during the contract, and crews must reach Spencer Bench by Alaska Railroad. The contract was open only to small businesses and drew seven offers.

USAspending recorded 17 Alaska contract actions dated Oct. 30 to Nov. 2, as of Nov. 4, and the trail contract was the largest new award. The figures are obligations, the money agencies have committed, not funds actually spent.

Customs and Border Protection added $1.9 million Oct. 30 to an order with Trailboss Enterprises Inc. of Anchorage for ground transportation and facility guard services, bringing it to $9,364,346.61.

The Federal Aviation Administration added $20,000 Nov. 2 to a cellular devices and services order with GCI Communication Corp., bringing it to $254,500.

Interior ordered $15,018 in on-call fixed-wing flights from Golden Eagle Outfitters Inc. of Kotzebue for a Bureau of Land Management survey in Game Management Unit 25C. The order drew three offers, lists Fairbanks as its place of performance and runs through March 31.

The General Services Administration ordered $152 in copy paper from ASCI Federal Services LLC of Anchorage.
