Forest Service adds $5,950 to Fairbanks firm's order tied to Utah's Babylon Fire
The U.S. Forest Service added $5,950 on Oct. 20 to a delivery order with Fairbanks-based Big State Wildfire LLC for work the federal record places in Price, Utah.
The order carries the incident number of the Babylon Fire, which was discovered June 26 in San Juan County, Utah, burned 107,189 acres and was contained Aug. 12, according to federal wildfire incident data. The Manti-La Sal National Forest protects the fire area and is the funding office on the order.
The addition brings the total obligated on the order to $62,900. The Forest Service first obligated money for it on July 4, according to the federal award record, which shows $56,950 paid out.
The order's work period ran July 4 to Oct. 17, so the money came three days after it ended. The record codes the change as an administrative action and gives no reason for it.
The work falls under a Forest Service water-handling agreement for wildfires. The same agreement produced two 2025 orders to Big State Wildfire: about $58,000 in Idaho and $69,000 in Utah.
