Written comments due: ADA-72364 Proposal to Extend a State Airport Land Lease at Bettles Airport

About this event

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) has announced a proposal to extend Lease ADA-72364 at the Bettles Airport. The lease covers Lots 1A and 15, Block 110, totaling approximately 24,000 square feet. The applicant is the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS). The proposed extension is for a five-year term. The annual rent for the property is set at $1,680.00, plus any additional associated fees. The authorized use of the land is non-aeronautical, specifically for the maintenance and operation of equipment storage, maintenance facilities, office space, and residential housing for NPS employees and their families. The application is being processed under AS 02.15.090(c), which permits the Department to grant the extension without competition. The public comment period is open until November 6, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. Interested parties must submit written comments to Erik Widman at the DOT&PF Aviation Leasing office in Fairbanks to be eligible to receive the Department's final decision.
