Written Comment Deadline on Health Care Facility Discharge Data Reporting Regulations
About this event
The Alaska Department of Health has issued a notice of proposed regulation changes concerning health care facility discharge data reporting. The proposal seeks to amend 7 AAC 27.660(b) and 7 AAC 150.250(a)(8) to incorporate by reference the Alaska Health Facilities Data Reporting Program Guidelines. These regulations govern reporting requirements and inpatient prospective payments based on Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG).
The Department is soliciting public input on these changes, including potential costs to private persons. Written comments must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on November 4, 2026, via mail, email, or fax to Abigail Newby-Kew, Ph.D. Additionally, an oral hearing is scheduled for October 27, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. via telephone.
The Department of Health has stated that these proposed changes are not expected to require an increased appropriation. Following the public comment period, the Department will decide whether to adopt the changes, modify them, or take no action.
