About this event
Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines have announced the expansion of their global network with new nonstop, year-round service connecting Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Osaka, Japan (KIX), and Papeete, Tahiti (PPT). These routes are part of the 'Alaska Accelerate' initiative, which aims to establish Seattle as a global gateway with at least 15 long-haul intercontinental destinations by 2030.
The Seattle-to-Osaka route is scheduled to begin on May 14, 2027, operating four times weekly. The Seattle-to-Papeete route will launch on June 11, 2027, operating three times weekly. Both routes will be operated by Hawaiian Airlines using Airbus A330 aircraft, which feature lie-flat business class suites and Starlink Wi-Fi. The Papeete route will be designated as flight AS987.
To promote the new service, the airlines are offering introductory round-trip Main Cabin fares starting at $999 for Papeete and $1,199 for Osaka. These promotional fares are available for booking through October 26, 2026, subject to availability and government approval.
