AMATS 2027-2030 Funding Program (TIP) Amendment #1 Public Comment Period
About this event
The AMATS Technical Advisory Committee is reviewing Amendment #1 to the 2027-2030 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The amendment proposes significant funding and scope adjustments across multiple categories, including Complete Streets, Active Transportation, Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ), Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), and National Highway System (NHS) projects. Key changes include shifting project timelines, adjusting cost estimates for rehabilitation projects, and reallocating funds to reflect current design and construction needs.
Specific project updates include the addition of the Rabbit Creek Road and Potter Drive rehabilitation projects to the TIP, and significant funding increases for the Old Seward Highway Spur and the AMATS Area Pavement and Bridge Preservation program. The amendment also proposes removing the Non-Motorized Facility Maintenance Equipment project from the current TIP and moving it to the illustrative list due to funding eligibility concerns.
Staff declined to include several requested changes in this amendment, including a $10 million request for the Campbell Tract Facility Alternative Entrance Alignment and various scope expansion requests for the East 4th Avenue Signal and Lighting Upgrade project. These items are deferred for potential consideration in future amendments pending further review and discussion.
