Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference 2027

📍 Anchorage, Alaska

About this event

The Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA) has passed Resolution No. G26-10, formally committing the agency to take over the organization and management of the Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference beginning in 2027. The conference, founded by Governor Mike Dunleavy in 2022, has grown to attract over 1,000 attendees annually from across the globe, serving as a platform to showcase Alaska's energy potential and resource development. AIDEA justifies this transition by citing its statutory mandate to promote economic growth and job creation. The resolution highlights AIDEA's history of facilitating major infrastructure projects, such as the Red Dog Mine transportation system and the Ketchikan Shipyard, as well as its contributions to the state, including over $500 million in dividends paid to the State of Alaska since 1996. Moving forward, AIDEA plans to manage the conference in Anchorage through partnerships with the Governor’s office, the Alaska Energy Authority, the Alaska Center for Energy and Power at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the Department of Energy Arctic Energy Office. The authority intends to use the conference to continue highlighting Alaska's conventional and renewable energy resources, including critical minerals, carbon storage, and emerging technologies like geothermal and advanced nuclear energy.
