ConocoPhillips files amended Meltwater easement application

ConocoPhillips Alaska filed an amended application for a Meltwater easement renewal through state land on the North Slope. The easement maintains surface access to infrastructure that supports Kuparuk River Unit production.

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources' Division of Oil and Gas publicly noticed the private non-exclusive easement renewal on May 27. ConocoPhillips submitted an amended application under state file ADL 417187 on May 29.

Meltwater is a satellite development to the Kuparuk River Unit. The available public notice indicates the easement renewal concerns existing infrastructure access for the Meltwater pipe rack and related corridors.

The Division's public notice made the application package available for review. The notice directs comments to the Division's Permitting Section in Anchorage.

Term length, exact route, and any environmental or subsistence conditions remain unclear without accessing the full application documents. The renewal appears to maintain existing access rather than authorize new surface disturbance.

ConocoPhillips continues to operate multiple North Slope fields and satellite developments. The company also has a separate Bureau of Land Management exploration drilling and plugging project active in the region this year.
