Board of Fisheries takes written comments through Oct. 13 for its October work session

Anyone has until Oct. 13 to submit written comments to the Alaska Board of Fisheries for its annual work session, and the board will take no oral testimony. The session is scheduled for Oct. 28 and 29, starting at 8:30 am each day, at the Egan Civic & Convention Center in Anchorage.

The board won't adopt any regulations at the session, according to a notice signed by Executive Director Art Nelson. It will consider agenda change requests, which ask the board to take up topics outside its normal three-year rotation, set tentative dates and locations for its 2028-29 meetings, hear committee reports and handle planning. It is scheduled to act Oct. 29 on 13 posted requests, including one from the Native Village of Eyak for more Copper River subsistence salmon fishing time.

Comments are limited to 100 single-sided pages and can be filed through the board's meeting webpage or sent by mail or fax to the board's Juneau office. People with disabilities who need accommodation should contact Nelson by 5 pm Friday, Oct. 23.
