Army seeks small-business quotes for 11th Airborne Division historian at JBER
The Army's Fort Wainwright contracting office is seeking small-business quotes for historian and coordination support for the 11th Airborne Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Quotes are due 10 am Alaska time Friday, Oct. 23.
The request for quotation is set aside for small businesses. For this management consulting work, that means firms with annual receipts of $24.5 million or less.
The Army says the position is newly established and expects it to need about 20 hours a week. According to the solicitation package, the contractor would advise the division's command group, coordinate with federal, state, tribal and academic organizations, support congressional visits, compile an annual unit history report and manage historical records and artifacts. The historian must hold, or obtain within 60 days, a Secret security clearance, which the government will sponsor.
The Army reactivated the 11th Airborne Division in Alaska in June 2022.
The base year runs Nov. 2 through Nov. 1, 2027, with an option year through Nov. 1, 2028. An amendment posted Monday answered questions that were due Oct. 15 and left the quote deadline unchanged.
