APIA is hiring two paid interns in Anchorage and Sand Point

The Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association is offering two paid internships — a chance to get hands-on experience in social and employment services while working with Alaska Native communities.

One is in Anchorage, at $20.34 an hour, and one in Sand Point, at $21.13. Each runs three months, up to 20 hours a week, and can be extended by agreement. Interns work inside APIA's employment and training program, helping with participant meetings, employment planning, case notes and database work for Alaska Native and American Indian tribal members.

The roles are a natural fit for someone already studying the field — preference goes to applicants pursuing or holding a Certificate in Rural Human Services, an associate degree in social work or a related credential, with a high school diploma or equivalent the baseline. The Anchorage post requires APICDA eligibility, the Sand Point post Aleut Corporation eligibility; applicants also need basic computer skills and will clear a background check.
