GSA routed 60 supply orders worth $11,537 to Anchorage firm

The General Services Administration booked 60 supply orders worth $11,537 to Anchorage's ASCI Federal Services LLC on Sept. 2 and Sept. 3, most with three-day delivery windows. The tools, hardware and office supplies included wrenches, pliers, padlocks and a stapler. They ranged from $9.91 for a document protector to $1,956 of toner cartridges.

The orders fall under a five-year GSA logistics contract worth about $12.3 million for Defense Department and civilian customers around Alaska. GSA set that contract aside for small businesses and awarded it in November 2022 after four bids.

ASCI was formed in 1999 for oil and gas customers. It sold off part of the business in a January 2021 partial liquidation, restructured as majority women-owned, and by mid-2022 had shrunk from 125 employees to six. It lost more than 90% of its revenue between January 2021 and October 2022, the company told the Alaska APEX Accelerator, a federally funded program that helps businesses sell to the government.
