The MLK Jr. Foundation opens Saturdays 9 to 10 a.m. and is closed Aug. 29. Mountain Coast Vineyard opens 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 15. SonRise Community Church opens 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 9 and Aug. 23. The Anchorage Native Assembly takes appointments at 907-276-1781.
Outside the Bowl, Access Narrows
The Chugiak-Eagle River Food Pantry and Girdwood Chapel serve local residents only, and Chugiak-Eagle River requires an appointment at 907-694-5228. That pantry runs Mondays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesdays 3:30 to 6:45 p.m. and Saturdays 1 to 2 p.m. in the parking lot, with Friday delivery available by appointment. Girdwood Chapel serves Girdwood and the four valleys only, 4 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 12 and Aug. 26 and 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2.
Mobile pantries rotate through the city on set dates. Lutheran Church of Hope distributes Tuesdays 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., with no arrivals before 3:30 p.m. Muldoon Community Assembly distributes Wednesdays 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. New Season Church distributes at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 6. ChangePoint distributes at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 13 and Aug. 27, with no arrivals before 2 p.m. St. John Methodist distributes at 5 p.m. Aug. 20. Clark Middle School in Mountain View distributes at 5 p.m. Aug. 7 and Aug. 14 and at 6 p.m. Aug. 21 and Aug. 28. Jewel Lake Church of the Nazarene distributes Saturdays at 10 a.m. First CME Church distributes at 2 p.m. Aug. 1 and Aug. 22. The Fairview Rec Center is closed Aug. 8 and distributes at 2 p.m. Aug. 15.
