AlaskaCare retiree town halls went from twelve a year to four. The last of 2026 is Oct. 15.

AlaskaCare retiree town hall calls, once monthly, dropped to four a year in January, with the next set for Thursday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. Alaska time. It is the last one scheduled this year.

The Division of Retirement and Benefits said in its August retiree newsletter that "these events will be held quarterly, on the third Thursday of the month in January, April, July, and October." The division's own recording archive shows twelve calls in 2025, monthly through Dec. 18, and a November 2023 newsletter described the calls as monthly.

The calls let retirees ask questions directly of division staff. Retirees must pre-register online, with registration closing an hour before the call, at 9 a.m. Anyone who does not register can still listen, live online or on the division's Facebook page.

The August newsletter gives no explanation for the change. The division's town hall page gives none either.
