Alaska opens child care payment rules for provider comment Wednesday

The rules that decide how Alaska child care providers get paid through the state's Child Care Assistance Program are open for comment Wednesday — including the attendance paperwork requirements that came with the 2024 federal child care funding rule.

The Alaska Child Care Program Office hosts the online session from noon to 2 p.m. July 29, the fourth in its 2026 engagement series, covering provider types, billing, family authorization and reporting. Among the scheduled topics: the federal requirement that providers keep verifiable, date-stamped attendance records for every subsidized child. The session is open to providers, families and advocates.

Four more sessions run through September, covering licensing, health and safety, inclusive child care and the grant program.
