Alaska Board of Fisheries takes written comments through Oct. 13 for its work session

Anyone has until Oct. 13 to submit written comments to the Alaska Board of Fisheries for its annual work session, and the board will take no oral testimony. The session is scheduled for Oct. 28 and 29, starting at 8:30 a.m. each day, at the Egan Civic & Convention Center in Anchorage.

The session is non-regulatory, meaning no regulations will be adopted, according to a notice signed by Executive Director Art Nelson. The board will consider agenda change requests (petitions to take up topics outside the normal three-year rotation), weigh tentative 2028/2029 meeting dates and locations, receive committee reports and handle planning matters. It is scheduled to act Oct. 29 on 13 posted requests, including one from the Native Village of Eyak for more Copper River subsistence salmon time.

Comments are capped at 100 single-sided pages. They can be filed through the board's meeting webpage, mailed to P.O. Box 115526, Juneau, AK 99811-5526, or faxed to (907) 465-6094. People with disabilities who need accommodation should contact Nelson at (907) 267-2292 by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23.
