Alaska Cleanup Funds Shrink

Nine Alaska tribes signed two-year Army agreements this month to clean up military contamination on their land, taking $3,567,457 of a $4,495,305 round. Eight received less than their own previous agreement and one, Kenaitze Indian Tribe, more than doubled. The award records name no site, contaminant or acreage, and no money has been spent.
