From the transcript

This is in light of depressed red king crab populations and changing ecosystem conditions. The council stated that its focus is not on benthic cat effects, as was just spoken to, but also because Fishing Effects Model remains the primary peer-reviewed tool used for evaluating fishing effects on essential fish habitats in Alaska. And the most recent review concluded that adverse effects on fishing activity on EFH are no more than minimal or temporary. So the next step for this topic is to use the upcoming staff analysis to develop new management tools to look at ways to measure and to reduce bottom contact by pelagic trawl gear. The Council also endorsed continued research on pelagic trawl gear innovation, including the Pollock Industries experimental pelagic trawl gear modification and research on crab habitat and distribution to improve understanding of fishing interactions with crab resources in support of future management decisions.
