My name is James Johnson. I'm the Executive Director for the Deep Sea Fishermen's Union of the Pacific. Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the sablefish stock assessment and the advisory panel's recommendation. I want to begin by expressing my support for AP Motion 3, which passed unanimously by a vote of 18 to 0. The motion asks for additional assessment model evaluations before the council considers final harvest specifications in December.
