From the transcript

Among a few, for instance, the city of Houston, Alaska just enacted a 2-year data center moratorium Their ordinance covers the size of the one proposed for Petersburg, and I've attached it to my testimony. The Sitka Planning Commission members just recommended in a 4-0 vote that Sitka define data centers in the city zoning code and for now prohibit data center development in any zone. The commission's recommendation will go to the assembly for the consideration. Commissioners agree that data centers should not be allowed as a conditional use in any zone of Sitka because the the city's conditional use permitting standards are inadequate for determining whether harm— excuse me, whether these facilities housing rapidly evolving technologies could harm local people, nature, or resources. The Fairbanks North Star Borough Mayor Greg Hopkins recently proposed a moratorium on land use permits for data centers through the end of 2027.
