Wrangell Assembly adds mystery item to May 12 agenda at last minute

The Wrangell Assembly added a mystery item to its May 12 agenda with less than 24 hours' notice. The borough filed the amended agenda on May 11, 2026, but did not describe what Item 13i covers in any publicly available agenda or packet documents.

The item appears at the end of the agenda under new business. The regular assembly meeting starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Borough Assembly Chambers. A work session may happen before the regular meeting.

The May 12 agenda also includes code ordinances and municipal code amendments that have moved through earlier public hearings and first readings.

Wrangell, a Southeast Alaska community of about 2,300 people, livestreams assembly meetings via Zoom Webinar so residents can participate remotely.
