West Tudor Road down a lane each way through Sunday for asphalt patching

Drivers on West Tudor Road near Cambridge Way will be down a left lane in each direction through Sunday morning while crews patch the asphalt. The work started Thursday and is set to wrap up Sunday, Sept. 6, running around the clock in the meantime, with no full closure planned.

It's the latest in a summer of lane closures on this stretch. The state also shut a westbound left lane between Harrison Street and Minnesota Drive for drainage work starting in mid-July, and closed another left lane near Harrison Street for a week in late August.

The patching is a short-term fix on a road with bigger problems. The state's own corridor materials note higher-than-average crash rates on Tudor and public calls for a lower speed limit — with residents and commuters pushing for the road's safety and congestion issues to be addressed beyond just filling potholes.
