Wasilla firm wins $3,419 GSA job cleaning a Detroit loading dock

A Wasilla firm, KCORP Reliance Company Inc., has won a $3,419 award from the General Services Administration to clean construction dust from the loading dock of the Patrick V. McNamara Federal Building at 477 Michigan Ave. in Detroit. The scope covers concrete flooring and horizontal surfaces in the platform, recycle room and ramp.

The work will take place entirely in Detroit. The record, award ID 47PE5626F0445, lists the award period as beginning and ending Sept. 1, 2026. It falls under an indefinite-delivery contract, a mechanism under which GSA orders work as needed rather than committing to a fixed scope up front.

The parent contract is larger. The Public Buildings Service issued it to KCORP in 2024 for janitorial and related services at four Detroit federal buildings: the McNamara, the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse, the U.S. Customs Cargo Inspection Facility and the Rosa Parks Federal Building. It runs through April 2027, has a ceiling of $32.9 million with $15.6 million obligated, and drew 24 offers as an 8(a) competition.

KCORP is an Alaska Native Corporation-owned firm, an 8(a) participant and a HUBZone firm, based in a Historically Underutilized Business Zone. It self-certifies as a small disadvantaged business. Its GSA portfolio extends well beyond Detroit: $5,489,616 for operations and maintenance at the San Ysidro and Tecate land ports of entry, and $4,187,734 at the Otay, Calexico and Andrade ports, both also beginning Sept. 1.

At Commonwealth North's May 2026 Anchorage forum on Alaska's 8(a) economy, Kevin Berry said: "to the extent that these ventures, these contracts are profitable, that's where we see money come into the Alaska economy, into these headquarters of the different corporations."
