Two men found shot dead inside east Anchorage home; police not seeking more suspects

Two men were found shot dead inside an east Anchorage home early Tuesday, and police say no suspect remains at large.

Anchorage Police Department officers responded to the 8000 block of East 5th Avenue at approximately 1:12 a.m. after reports of shots fired. They found two adult males inside the residence with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. Medics pronounced both dead at the scene.

"Detectives have contacted everyone believed to be involved in this investigation and are not looking for anyone at this time," APD said in its initial report. "This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no public safety threat."

The names of the two men are being withheld until next-of-kin notifications are complete. APD is investigating the case under number 26-19179.
