Two men barricade themselves in a car after fleeing Fairbanks police

Two men barricaded themselves inside a car near College Road and Aurora Drive in Fairbanks early Sunday after the driver failed to stop for police, Alaska State Troopers said.

Troopers tried to pull over a white 2016 Dodge Charger around 6:53 a.m. for reckless driving. The car didn't yield, then came to a stop, and the two occupants barricaded themselves inside. University of Alaska Fairbanks police helped troopers and Fairbanks police with the standoff.

Troopers identified the men as Brandon Hill, 33, of North Pole, and Aiden Woods, 24, of Healy. Both were arrested on charges of failure to stop, driving under the influence, misconduct involving weapons, misconduct involving controlled substances, and refusal to submit to a chemical test. The charges are accusations, and both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty; the dispatch includes no statement from either man or an attorney.
