A man was found dead on a hillside near the campsites at Tangle Lakes Campground and died by suicide, Alaska State Troopers said.
As of the agency's dispatch posting, his family had not yet been notified, and troopers are working with law enforcement agencies in the Lower 48 to reach them.
Troopers took the call from the campground, listed in the dispatch as located in Delta Junction, on Aug. 21 at about 7:24 p.m., according to the D Detachment dispatch. He was positively identified by his driver's license.
