Hillside road districts seek $145,000 from savings; Assembly votes Tuesday
Three Hillside road service areas would draw a combined $145,000 from their own savings to keep roads maintained through the rest of 2026. The Anchorage Assembly takes the resolutions up Tuesday on its consent agenda, where they are not set for public hearing. Mayor Suzanne LaFrance submitted them.
Bear Valley draws the largest share, $70,000, mainly for ditching and clearing culverts, after Anchorage Maintenance & Operations said its current mill levy is inadequate. Voters there already addressed that gap, lifting the tax cap from 1.50 mills to 2.25 on April 7, by 85 to 13.
Rabbit Creek View/Heights draws $60,000 for maintenance and snow removal, after its road contract needed a $75,000 increase in July. SRW Homeowner's draws $15,000 for summer road rehabilitation.
Each board of supervisors requested the money, and each memorandum says the draw leaves enough for winter work, with reserves still meeting bond-rating and emergency policy levels.
