Seward asks residents how to ease congestion between harbor, cruise dock and downtown
The City of Seward wants residents' ideas on how people should move between its small boat harbor, cruise ship terminal and historic downtown, and it is asking for them at an open house Tuesday.
The city is working on two plans. A Wayfinding Plan focuses on walking connections among those three areas. A Waterfront Plan looks at the future of the waterfront and harbor. Both deal with navigation, congestion and how residents and visitors get around, according to the city manager's latest report to the City Council.
Corvus Design, the consultant on the harbor area master plan, will be in town to talk about it. The city's Community Development department and Harbormaster's Office are hosting the open house from 5 to 7 pm at the Seward Community Library, and people can stop by anytime.
