Second Dan Sullivan files for Alaska U.S. Senate race

A Petersburg resident named Dan Sullivan has filed to challenge incumbent U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan in Alaska's 2026 Senate race.

The challenger filed as an undeclared candidate and launched a campaign website at sullivanforsenate.com. Social-media posts identify this as the third Dan Sullivan in Alaska politics.

Alaska uses ranked-choice voting. Voters rank candidates in order of preference. The top four vote-getters in the nonpartisan primary advance to the general election.

Incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan, a Republican, has represented Alaska since 2015. He has raised $7.5 million and secured endorsements from Senator Lisa Murkowski, Congressman Nick Begich, and multiple labor and industry groups. He previously served as Alaska Attorney General from 2009 to 2010 and as Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Natural Resources from 2010 to 2013.

Alaska's Class II Senate seat is scheduled for election in 2026.
