Michaela Franklin will ask the Anchorage Assembly on Tuesday for more volunteers to staff Project Homeless Connect 2026. The one-day resource fair for unhoused residents runs Monday, Oct. 26, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Egan Center downtown.

Franklin's request to the Assembly says more than 70 service providers and partners will offer everything from an ID to glasses, and from a vaccine to a haircut. Guests can also get health care, housing resources, a hot meal and a winter coat, and connect with recovery services, legal services, shelters and job training.

Franklin wrote that a few more volunteers are needed for the day to run smoothly. She also asked for help spreading the word to unhoused residents who could use the services.

The Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness organizes the fair. More than 250 people have signed up to volunteer so far, according to its event page, and volunteer orientations are arranged through the coalition. The Anchorage Chamber volunteer listing sets volunteer hours on Oct. 26 from 8 am to 5 pm.
