Three Anchorage schools evacuated Wednesday afternoon after bomb threats were called in to five campuses. Police found no evidence of a bomb at any of them and said they believe the threats are unfounded.

The threats named Airport Heights Elementary, West High School, Romig Middle School, Bartlett High School and Rilke Schule German Immersion School, according to a notice from the Anchorage School District signed by Deputy Superintendent Madeline Aguillard. The district said the threats were reported just after 1 pm.

Police responded at about 1:22 pm to multiple calls claiming bomb threats at several schools, according to a release from the Anchorage Police Department. Officers found no evidence of a bomb at any location, the release said.

"Three of the campuses were initially evacuated out of an abundance of caution, prior to receiving guidance from APD that students can reenter their schools," Aguillard wrote. The notice did not say which three. No students or staff were injured, the district said.

The source of the threats remains under investigation, police said. The release did not say whether the calls are connected.
