Mayor Grier Hopkins was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, and grew up in Goldstream. He served in the Alaska House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023 and is serving his first three-year term as Fairbanks North Star Borough mayor, having been sworn in on October 24, 2024.
