Missing Wasilla man found alive in parked vehicle at Delta Junction Visitor Center

A Wasilla man reported missing July 21 was found alive Sunday in the back seat of a parked vehicle at the Delta Junction Visitor Center. He was having a medical emergency.

Alaska State Troopers identified him as Kent Larson. Larson had been reported missing from the Wasilla area on July 21, according to the trooper dispatch.

A vehicle that had not moved brought troopers to the parking lot. A caller reported at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday that a white Ford had been parked at the visitor center since about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, and that no one had seen the occupant get out. Troopers conducted a welfare check and found a man lying in the back seat.

Emergency medical services responded and took Larson to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital for evaluation. Troopers said his family has been notified that he was located. The dispatch does not describe his condition.

The case closes one of several missing-person searches troopers have worked this month. Alaska News previously covered the search for Rodney Rutherford, 73, reported missing near Fairbanks on July 24, and the case of Oscar Griffin, the Juneau man found dead July 2 after a two-day search.
