LaFrance names Lynn McNamara to Anchorage library board seat
Mayor Suzanne LaFrance has appointed Lynn McNamara, a former school librarian, to Seat 1 of the Library Advisory Board. The Anchorage Assembly will consider her confirmation Tuesday, Oct. 6. Her term would run to Oct. 14, 2029.
The mayor's memo lists the seat as vacant. The library's roster lists Chair Cristy A. Willer in it until Oct. 14.
McNamara's résumé lists "Girdwood representation" as her goal. She co-chairs the Girdwood Library Boosters and helped raise money for Girdwood's library.
In July, the Assembly confirmed three other board appointees: Ryan Foisy, Antoinette M. Street and Lydia R. Johnson. Johnson's Seat 7 and Seat 8 expire Oct. 14, 2026, just over a week after Tuesday's meeting. Seat 3 is vacant, the roster shows.
McNamara is the only new name among 15 board and commission appointments on Tuesday's agenda. All 15 terms expire the same day in 2029.
