Kuskokwim Corporation sets Oct. 29 Zoom craft night for shareholders
The Kuskokwim Corporation (TKC) will host a virtual Craft & Chat for shareholders on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 pm over Zoom.
The evening of crafting and conversation runs through TKC ROOTS, short for Raising Our Own Traditional Stewards. Shareholders of all skill levels can bring beading, sewing, knitting, drawing or any other project they are working on.
TKC reports more than 4,300 shareholders living across the world. The corporation formed in 1977 when 10 Middle Kuskokwim village corporations merged. The corporation says ROOTS aims to help shareholders "connect, stay connected, and reconnect with one another and the rich culture and traditions of the Middle Kuskokwim."
TKC asks everyone planning to attend to register in advance through the event page. It uses registration to track participation, ask for feedback and share other ROOTS opportunities.
Alaska News reported Sept. 28 on the program's first Evening with an Elder session, which was scheduled for Oct. 1.
