The Kuskokwim Corporation is inviting people to bring whatever they're working on, from beading and sewing to knitting and drawing, to a Craft & Chat on Zoom at 5:30 pm Thursday, Oct. 29. All skill levels are welcome, the corporation says.

The evening is part of TKC ROOTS, short for Raising Our Own Traditional Stewards. TKC says the program is meant to help shareholders connect with one another and with the culture and traditions of the Middle Kuskokwim.

TKC formed in 1977, when 10 village corporations merged: Lower Kalskag, Kalskag, Aniak, Chuathbaluk, Napaimute, Crooked Creek, Georgetown, Red Devil, Sleetmute and Stony River. It reports more than 4,300 shareholders living around the world, with offices in Aniak and Anchorage.

The program scheduled its first Evening with an Elder session for Oct. 1, with TKC shareholder Jennie Zaukar and anthropologist Ann Fienup-Riordan, Alaska News reported.

TKC asks people planning to attend to register through the event page.
