Glenn Highway northbound left lane closed near mile 26 Monday for guardrail repairs
Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities crews closed the left northbound lane of the Glenn Highway near mile marker 26 at 9:30 am Monday for guardrail and fencing repairs, according to Alaska 511. The closure is scheduled to last until 4:30 pm.
That stretch is near the Eklutna exit and the Eklutna River. The highway remains open otherwise, and Alaska 511 rates the closure as minor.
Similar one-day lane closures have hit this stretch before. Crews closed a lane toward Anchorage between mile markers 27 and 26 for the same type of guardrail and fencing work on June 25 and again on Aug. 10, according to Alaska 511.
A truck crash also closed the left outbound lane near mile 26 on Oct. 8.
