Fort Wainwright advocates will staff domestic violence booths at the post Exchange
Fort Wainwright's Family Advocacy Program will staff an outreach booth in the post Exchange from 11 am to 1 pm Oct. 23 and Oct. 30 for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The team includes program specialist Eldotha Fields and domestic abuse victim advocates Susan Hesser and Toney Price, according to the Army announcement. Price said the team's main goal is to provide the resources people need so they can make their own decisions.
The Army describes domestic abuse as including emotional manipulation, financial control, digital abuse and threats involving pets, in addition to physical violence.
The 24/7 victim advocacy hotline, 907-799-9770, serves Fort Wainwright and Fort Greely, according to the installation's support services page. Victims can file a restricted report, without command or law-enforcement involvement, or an unrestricted report that involves the full investigative process.
