Flooding closes state vocational rehabilitation office in downtown Fairbanks
Flooding has closed the state Department of Labor office at 455 Third Ave., Suite 150, in downtown Fairbanks for the day, cutting off walk-in service Friday, Sept. 11.
The address houses the Fairbanks Branch Office of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, which serves the Northern Region. The division says it helps hundreds of Alaskans with disabilities "prepare for, get and keep good jobs."

The state's closure notice on alaska.gov says only that the office "will be closed due to flooding." It gives no cause, and it covers Friday alone. The National Weather Service has no flood warning or advisory in effect for the Fairbanks area.
It is the only state office closure listed anywhere in Alaska on Friday.
