Public Objection Period for Double Eagle Cannabis License Renewal
About this event
The Alaska Alcohol & Marijuana Control Office (AMCO) has notified Double Eagle Farms, LLC, doing business as Double Eagle Cannabis, that their renewal application for a retail marijuana store license (#10245) has been deemed complete. The business is located at 2042 E 3rd Avenue, Suite A, in Anchorage, with Naim Sabani listed as the designated licensee.
Following this determination, the application has been forwarded to the Municipality of Anchorage and the Mountain View Community Council for review. Under 3 AAC 306.060, the local government has 60 days from the date of the notice to file a formal protest against the renewal. If a protest is filed, the Marijuana Control Board is required to review the application unless the protest is found to be arbitrary, capricious, or unreasonable.
While the Marijuana Control Board delegated authority to the AMCO Director to approve renewal applications on May 15, 2017, the board must independently consider the application if there are outstanding notices of violation, local government protests, or public objections received within 30 days. If approved, the 2026/2027 license will be issued during an annual inspection or mailed to the licensee.
