Public Objection Period for Anchorage Bowl Limited Marijuana Cultivation Facility License Renewal
About this event
The Alaska Alcohol & Marijuana Control Office (AMCO) has officially notified Anchorage Bowl, LLC that its renewal application for a Limited Marijuana Cultivation Facility license (#12317) is complete. The facility, located at 4000 Spenard Road in Anchorage, is now subject to a 60-day protest period for the Municipality of Anchorage and the Spenard Community Council.
Under state regulations, the local government has 60 days to file a formal protest against the renewal. If a protest is filed, the Marijuana Control Board is required to review the application unless the protest is found to be arbitrary, capricious, or unreasonable. The board also retains authority to review the application if there are outstanding notices of violation or if public objections are received within 30 days.
While the Marijuana Control Board delegated authority to the AMCO Director to approve renewals on May 15, 2017, this delegation only applies to applications without protests, objections, or violations. If the application proceeds without issue, the 2026/2027 license will be issued during the facility's annual inspection or mailed if no inspection is deemed necessary.
