MOA Fiscal Future Summit

The Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) has launched a Fiscal Future Initiative aimed at enhancing community engagement and long-term strategic planning regarding the municipal budget. This initiative follows a series of community conversations held over the past year, including workshops led by Assembly Chair Brawley and Members Baldwin Day, Goecker, Martinez, and Scout. On September 1, 2026, the Assembly formally established this initiative through the passage of resolution AR 2026-255. The resolution mandates a period of fiscal education and strategic visioning, culminating in a public summit. The MOA Fiscal Future Summit is scheduled for October 30, 2026, at the UAA Student Union. The event is designed to be accessible to all residents, regardless of their prior knowledge of municipal finance. Additionally, the municipality has released a public survey to gather resident input on the city's fiscal trajectory.
