Mental & Emotional Healthspan: Connection, Purpose & Resilience

About this event

# Mental & Emotional Healthspan: Connection, Purpose & Resilience When: Monday, November 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM AKST What: What helps us stay emotionally well, connected, resilient, and engaged with life as we get older? This **one-hour session** is part of our ongoing **Healthspan Series**, where we're exploring the factors that influence not simply how long we live, but how well we live throughout those years. In this session, we'll focus on **Mental & Emotional Healthspan**—the psychological, emotional, and social resources that help us navigate life, recover from challenges, maintain meaningful relationships, and continue experiencing a sense of purpose and well-being. As a health coach, I think about mental and emotional healthspan through several interconnected areas: **Social Connection & Belonging** — Do you have relationships and communities where you feel known, supported, valued, and connected? **Purpose, Meaning & Values** — What gives your life direction and meaning? Are the ways you're spending your time and energy aligned with what matters most to you? **Positive Psychological Well-Being** — What supports your ability to experience positive emotion, engagement, satisfaction, hope, and a sense that your life is going well? **Adaptive Resilience & Recovery** — How well are you able to respond to stress, adapt when circumstances change, and recover after difficult experiences? During our hour together, we'll explore what each of these areas means, why they matter for healthspan, and how they can change throughout different seasons of life. We'll also consider where you currently feel well-supported and where you may want to intentionally invest more attention. This is an introductory session to the **Mental & Emotional Healthspan** pillar. Future sessions in the series will give us opportunities to go deeper into individual areas such as connection, belonging, purpose, psychological well-being, resilience, and recovery. **A note about recording:** A portion of the educational content from this session will be recorded and added to our online **Midlife Health Foundations Library**. The interactive and personal discussion portion of the group will not be included in the recording. You don't need to have everything figured out—or even feel particularly resilient right now—to participate. This is an opportunity to step back from the demands of everyday life and consider a bigger question: **What are the relationships, values, inner resources, and sources of meaning that can help me continue to thrive throughout my life?**
