City and Borough of Juneau — Systemic Racism Review Committee

📍 Zoom Webinar (Virtual Only)

About this event

The City and Borough of Juneau's Systemic Racism Review Committee (SRRC) has scheduled a meeting for November 3, 2026, via Zoom. The agenda focuses on the review of several ordinances introduced at the October 26, 2026, Regular Assembly Meeting, including significant infrastructure and capital improvement projects. Committee members are provided with a checklist tool to evaluate these ordinances for potential systemic racism impacts. Key legislative items include Ordinance 2026-44, which authorizes up to $24,735,000 in port revenue bonds for Seawalk improvements, and several appropriation ordinances for airport projects and city operating costs. Specifically, the committee will review funding for an ADA elevator project ($250,420), snow removal equipment ($4,861,205), and airport operations ($302,489). Additionally, the committee will discuss the Draft FY2028 CBJ Legislative Capital Priorities List. Engineering and Public Works Director Denise Koch will present the list, and the committee is invited to provide input, nominate new projects, or recommend the removal of existing ones. A formal recommendation from the SRRC regarding these priorities is expected to be discussed at the subsequent meeting on November 17, 2026.
