AlaskaCare Defined Benefit Retiree Health Plan Public Comment Period

The Alaska Department of Administration, Division of Retirement and Benefits, in coordination with the Alaska Retiree Health Plan Advisory Board (RHPAB), has announced a proposed update to the AlaskaCare Defined Benefit Retiree Health Plan. The primary change under consideration is the addition of licensed massage therapists to the list of recognized provider types covered by the plan. The department is soliciting public feedback on this proposal. Interested parties may submit written comments via mail to the Division of Retirement and Benefits in Juneau or via email to [email protected]. All comments must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on October 19, 2026. A public teleconference regarding the comment process was scheduled for October 8, 2026. Following the conclusion of the public comment period, the RHPAB will submit an advisory recommendation to the Commissioner of the Department of Administration, who serves as the Plan Administrator.
