Crash closes southbound lane of Seward Highway at Mile 24.5

Drivers heading south toward Seward lost a lane at Mile 24.5 of the Seward Highway on Wednesday afternoon after a motor vehicle accident, according to an Alaska 511 alert. The lane was still closed as of 4:10 p.m.

Law enforcement was on scene directing traffic past the crash. The closure began at 3:07 p.m. AKDT and the alert was set to run through 5:30 p.m. AKDT. DOT&PF marked the item as not high importance.

The alert lists no injuries, no cause, and no reopening time beyond that window.
