Alaska psychologist license fees will more than double to $1,100 starting Nov. 27
Alaska psychologists and psychological associates will pay $1,100 for initial two-year licenses and biennial renewals starting Nov. 27, up from $500, under state regulations filed Oct. 28 by Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom's office, according to the state filing notice.
The Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development's fee package touches 11 licensed fields, raising most fees and cutting a few.
For psychologists, the nonrefundable application fee for an initial license doubles from $200 to $400. The state drops its $100 credential review fee and $50 state exam fee. Courtesy license applications rise from $50 to $200, and temporary licenses rise from $150 to $250.
Massage therapist license and renewal fees rise from $290 to $465, and massage establishment registration and renewal fees double from $300 to $600. Mechanical administrator license and renewal fees rise from $200 to $500, and their application fee rises from $150 to $350.
Pawnbroker license and renewal fees rise from $100 to $600. Dietitian and nutritionist license and renewal fees rise from $50 to $85, and their application fee rises from $100 to $150.
Naturopaths move the other way. Their license and renewal fees fall from $1,800 to $800, and their temporary license fee falls from $500 to $400.
Glenn Saviers, deputy director of the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing, approved the fee changes Oct. 26. The order says the department took public comment and expects no added state appropriation. The changes take effect 30 days after filing.
